Tiny Cassette chain stay clearance
New bike day, yay! New frame, moving over lots of parts to it.
When fitting the wheels the clearance between cassette and chainstay is tiny, while the chain will go on the lowest cog i can barely slide a piece of paper in the gap, when i start hammering it that is going to remove carbon im sure.
Parcours grimpeur disk wheels, 12x142 thru axles, campag free hub, Factor O2 Frame. Clearance was narrow on my prior frame but didnt notice it as an issue. I put in my Hunt wheels and there is plenty of room. Cassette is all the way on with the lock ring too.
Took the hub apart and the design doesn't allow any adjustment on the drive side. There just isnt enough axle sticking out to go into the drop out compared to my hunt wheels
Any ideas? I thought about a 1-2mm spacer inside the dropout but that seems like a hack.

There are no spacers behind the cassette and its as tight as it can be.0

I looked at your photos and then looked at my CF frame. I have a bit more clearance as my chainstay/seatstay junction seems to have a bit more vertical before it bends inward, if that makes sense.
That looks really, really tight -- I would suggest calling Factor and describing your setup.0 -
That does look a bit too tight IMHO. Can you even get the chain onto the smallest sprocket without it rubbing on the inside of the seat stay/chain stay. Could be related to the hub design and dimensions on the Parcour Disk Wheels.
If it were me I'd be avoiding the big/small extreme gear position. In truth I'm never usually going fast enough to justify a 50/11 combo on my bike but you're not me.0 -
Yeah the chain goes on and turns without contact but by less than 1mm - so by the time your peddling hard its likely to touch.
Given my other wheels fit ok i dont think its the frame but will ping them, I already did for Parcours. I think it is more hub - i ran these wheels in my other frame (Mason definition) and its pretty tight there too but the frame just is more forgiving.

If you use 11 speed then putting on a narrower (on the outside) 12 speed chain could help.0

I had the same issue on my Mason Definition and a Hunt wheel using campagnolo. It is really tight with the Hunt but fine with a Hope rear hub which I know has the correct drive side hub end cap on. I wonder whether it is this that is the issue i.e the hub end cap is too narrow by a mm or so. I'm not familiar with the wheels you have but it's almost as if the end cap is the same for shimano fit and campag when it actually needs to be different.0
