Cervelo R5 - Outfront mount advice

Hi, bought an R5 last week which I’m loving, but due to the style of barS that come as standard I can’t get the standard Garmin mount to sit straight and it’s doing my head in while riding.
Can anyone recommend a solution? Needs to be a longer mount to accommodate a 1030 Plus. Will try to attach a pic of the current situation.
Cheers,
Paul.

I like the Raceware mounts which attach to the front of the stem, like this one: https://www.racewaredirect.co/shop/carbon-garmin-edge-faceplate-mount/
There are cheaper generic versions of the same thing, but the Raceware 3D printed ones are really nice, very light and you can select the correct hole spacing, where the cheap versions just have a slot.0 -
Cheers, I had thought about that style, but am concerned about the angle of the computer. It seems that it would be either very flat or slightly angled away from me which makes visibility of map pretty poor in bright light. What is your experience?XC: Giant Anthem X

That would depend on the angles of the bike, both the stem and the head tube angle of the bike. For me, with a Wahoo Bolt, on a race style bike with about a 73 degree head angle and a -7 stem, it's fine - The stem is in reality angled up at about 10 degrees from horizontal, angling the computer back slightly. Your setup may vary though.0

Is the mount moving? You get rubber fillers for the mount to stop it moving, I had to use them on my main bike.0

I use this one on my r5 with a 1030:-

Yes, I’m using the rubber shim, the problem isn’t that the mount moves, it’s that it just won’t hold straight after being tightened due to the angle of the bars.50x11 said:Is the mount moving? You get rubber fillers for the mount to stop it moving, I had to use them on my main bike.

I was looking at them, but can’t find them in stock anywhere. Do they work well?jimmurray said:I use this one on my r5 with a 1030:-

I’ve ordered the moon light with Garmin mount on top. It is stem bolt mounted so should do the job.XC: Giant Anthem X

Works really well, impressed with it. Expensive though. I got it about 2 months ago on amazon but was hard to find any in stock as you say.paulbox said:

My mate got one of these. Not too expensive and seems to work really well. Works with a standard 4 bolt stem- if that’s what you have.

Cheers, I did consider one of those, but went for the moon front light that mounts in exactly the same way and has a Garmin mount on the top.
I like to use a light when riding so that was a two birds one stone solution.XC: Giant Anthem X

Everything aligned and my ocd at ease. Ideally I would like to adjust the angle of the light/mount, but in use I could see the screen fine at the weekend.
Two pics, one just the light, one with the Garmin installed.
