My Enigma Extensor (Columbus XCR) is a smidgeon over 7.4kg with 33mm clinchers, pedals, crank based PM, bottle cages, computer mount etc.

So yeah, steel needn't be heavy. Steel frame over carbon probably adds about the same weight as having disk brakes (I don't have).

It's a pretty firm ride though, so not your stereotypical steel feel.

Is there any real meaning to that phrase, is a particular metal more real than another?
Steel is real but aluminium is slightly less real but titanium is the realest metal.

They're all alloys, really ('scuse the pun).
