Freehub compatibility advice

12 speeds can fit on Standard Shimano HG freehubs! Sunrace and other brands also make 12 speed cassettes for HG freehubs too.
Your Sram Eagle groupset (specifically cassette) is either an NX or SX.
The NX, SX cassettes fit to Shimano freehubs but not XD Drivers. Sram GX cassettes and above only work with XD Drivers.
The confusing part is Shimano 12 speed cassettes won't work with HG freehubs, they only work with Microspline.
General rule is standard Shimano HG freehubs cannot accommodate a small cog any lower than 11t. XD Drivers and Microspline freehubs were developed to allow a 10t small cog to be used on cassettes to increase overall gear range.
Examples:-
Sram NX Eagle 12 speed 11-50 = Shimano freehub.
Sram GX Eagle 12 speed 10-50 = XD Driver.
Shimano XTR 12 speed 10-51 = Microspline.
Hope this makes sense?
