Tcr sl 1 2020 vs tcr pro 0 2021?

Hey guys, interested in your thoughts on what would be a better bike overall of the two?
1. Tcr advanced sl 1 disc 2020
2. Tcr advanced pro 0 disc 2021

The 2020 SL model has better quality carbon (stiffer?) whereas new 2021 pro 0 model is more aero. So maybe it comes down to what's more important, stiffness or aero?

Thanks :)

It makes it easier if you post the direct links especially given specifications can alter country to country. I beleive the main difference is that the new TCR is just a revamped / remodelled version of the old one. Personally I'd save your money and get the older pro model if it's in stock. Unless your something really special you will be hard pressed to out perform the bike.

I can get both of the above models at the same price, that's why I'm aking :)

Looking at the specs it's a basic choice between Di2 or Etap, 160mm discs all round or 160/140 mix, SLR1 or SLR2 wheels. The newer frames I beleive have more tyre clearance. Both specs pretty good especially given what your going to pay for them.

Thanks mate. What are your thoughts on aeroness of pro 0 vs better carbon of sl?
  • In my opinion: TCR ADVANCED PRO 0 DISC. In terms of the frame 1:1,  higher model (higher carbon group), new model (updated geometry and aerodynamics). I prefer Ultegra over Sram (you can read on the net about problems with SRAM Force), but so be it: 1:1.  The wheels are the most important thing in a road bike. In TCR ADVANCED SL 1 DISC you have a very old design (and 100 grams heavier) introduced many years ago. In pro 0 you have the latest hub, a new rim with a changed profile, and most important, external nipples! In the old version, to center the wheel You must: take off the tire (with milk) and what's worse peel off the tape!!!  While I was doing this in my TCR,  together with tape the pieces of carbon went away...
In the new version, you can try to center with the tire...  but most important, you don't have to peel off the tape...
  • Ive got the 2021 Pro 0. Im yet to find a flaw after replacing the stock saddle.

I was surprised by how comfortable it is. Absolutely no less comfortable on long rides than my 2016 Defy for instance...and its beautiful.

Do you really want to mess about cutting the seat tube?

It exists, anyway. Not in the new trend of fully integrated. 2 brake tubes for the hydros and one small Di2 connector. The shop I got mine from shortened and cleaned up the hoses.

Fully integrated is cool, I admit that, but in the real world it doesn't matter and I am likely to stick her in a bike bag at some point to travel and I hear integrated bar n stem combos don't like that so much.
