New but secondhand bike

Hi everyone
Could do with some advice if possible.
Ive got 3k to spend on a new bike.
Should i go for a secondhand bike with top spec (2-3 years old)or go for a new one with less spec?

You've got more than enough to get a decent bike new or a extremely good used bike. Normally I'd say used, but that's normally with a lesser budget. Your problem at the moment is used bikes are commanding premium prices and new bikes are hard to come by, your one saving grace is at your budget there will still be a few around.

Thank you for the information. I need a size small so these are mostly sold out but there are a few secondhand.

That budget gives you loads of choice either new or secondhand, getting a previous years model will also help if anything available.

Hi apologise for the delay.
Was looking for an XC bike.
I ended up getting this Scott Spark RC 900 SL second hand with many new parts.
