Gears slipping under load

I have a 2018 Wahoo KICKR that I’m using with a Cervelo R2. Recently it started slipping gears constantly under load when I’m in the 34 chain ring and the 30 on the cassette.
Checked my chain and it’s fine (an Ultegra chain that’s only 2 months old). That gear combination has no problems when the wheel is on for IRL rides.
What puzzles me is that the 30T is fine when I’m using the 50 chain ring (even though cross chaining isn’t ideal).
I suspect that the cassette on the KICKR may be worn out, but if so wouldn’t it also slip under load in a cross-chain scenario?
The KICKR cassette has some 5000km on it. Would that be a reasonable diagnosis or might it be smart to consider something else?

If the chain slips on one cog of the cassette and not another one then the slippy one is more worn. Cassettes don't wear evenly as you will use some cogs more than others.
I would just put a new cassette on and see what happens as a cassette is pretty cheap.0
