Well done V68 and Stevo,s kids, hope you suitably rewarded them both.

I've offered her a free lift to Liverpool next month o:)
Drink/biking stop on the return leg?
I like the idea ta, sadly first trip up I'll have Strifey in tow who will veto anything like that :/ May be possible if I can get her to stay home for future trips...
Based on Stropteen's uni packing list I may need some roof bars etc. A cunning plan is forming...

Eeeh. In my day, university packing were a jar of nescafe, 40 Embassy filter, the clothes you were stood up in, an extra pair of pants (in case you sh@t yourself whilst wearing the pair you were stood up in) and a pencil case. No way you'd have needed a massive German estate car to carry that lot. It all fitted in a plastic bag from the co-op.

    Tchah, kids today etc.

My next door neighbour in halls was Dutch. He smoked zware shag tobacco, reeked like he was burning tyres. Made Old Holborn smell like a summer meadow.

Zware shag - slightly worse than Drum.
When in Sweden, the hand rolling tobacco of choice was John Silver. Couldn't get it in the UK.

Strifey is coming along as well, so her overnight bag has tipped me over into roofbox territory. Good excuse to get a roof rack so I can use my bike carrier on future trips B)
