I have Allez DSW SL Sprint Comp 2017 with a bad lower (broken) bearing. I saw the blogs and believe the following options are available with varying costs and time required to manage them
1) Getting the whole headset at 90 quid "S192500001" but this will take me at least 1 month to procure
2) Getting the ebay lower bearing 49mm 1 3/8 lower (49 mm 37 mm 7 mm). Has anyone tried this on a allez sprint? Does it work?
3) Put in loose bearings - Facing a couple of issues when i attempt that
Issue A: Why does the steerer top goes above by 1 mm or 2 over the stem top. Is something missing?
Issue B: Despite keeping a spacer it just doesn't feel right. Slight tightening makes the rotation too stiff.
1) Steerer top over reaching
2) Dust cover
3) Two micro adjusts
4) Crown race
5) Center sleeve
6) Left the top sealed bearing in, i checked by rotating the inside and it felt okay
7) Took out the broken caged bearing and replaced it with loose bearings. Left out space for 2 to 3
