Hi, I am struggling to center these direct mount brakes. Obviously there's a 2mm Allen key bolt that adjusts the position of one side of the caliper, but how do you adjust the other side?
TIA

That screw does both. As one moves in the other moves out and vice versa

But the side that moves in is already to close... need it to move out

Is it all cabled up? Do you simply need to release some cable tension to give a better starting point before fine-tuning?

Turn the screw the other way then. All it does is adjust the spring pressure. If they’re direct mount and you can’t adjust them that way then you’ve done or are doing something wrong. Check your cable tension as above.

How to fit and adjust is in the dealer manual. See here - https://si.shimano.com/pdfs/dm/DM-RACBR01-01-ENG.pdf

  • I have these brakes on one of my bikes. The grub screw adjuster should be adequate to centre the pads, if it isn’t, it suggests the wheel isn’t straight in the forks / drop outs. Get the bike on level ground, release the skewers, and the position the wheel sits in, is straight. Re tighten the skewers and adjust the grub screw on the callipers from there to fine tune it.

thanks, managed to fix it using a combo of adjusting cable tension so one side was fine, then using grub to adjust other side
