    Morning

WFH. No ride ride or anything else as it's pouring down and forecast says it will carry on all day. Although the forecast hasn't been particularly accurate lately so we'll see.

Had an android update this morning. First one since I got this phone about 3 years ago.

Most of yesterday ended up being a write off, could hardly move and kept falling asleep and don't feel much better this morning

    Definitely not.
I didn't realise you could catch elderly from the neighbours.
Maybe the woman who let her dogs go for me yesterday when I was out riding was a witch and has cursed me. The sight of an angry, obese border collie falumping towards me will live with me forever, it was hillarious.

Wiggle have finally contacted me and are sending out my headset. Just awaiting an N2a fork from planet-x for my ribble and a scott speedster fork from Westbrooks for my daughters specialised dolce... today I have to take mrs DHL to IKEA to wander aimlessly around filling a giant trolley with tat.

Hurrah, fork arrived from planet-x. I had emailed them last week as was told the steerer length was about 260mm. It isn't, it's 160mm. Wtf is going on out there?

    Morning wobblies

If you get an older phone, you're plagued with Android one updates.
Sigma never got back to me regarding Praxis BB. Have decided Campag press fit cups (86.5 x 41) will suffice given 46 to 52nm TT + some gasket maker. Nice and rubbery and forgiving. Even if it does move, it won't squeak.
Internal cable routing will be fun.
C40 is at Atlantic Boulevard and the new Wilier is not complete - waiting for bits. This is the first time since April 1989 I have been bikeless. The only saving grace is that it is absolutely gopping.

    Morning folks,
Slow start after long weekend, about 27 and blue skies here. Don't think we'll be going anywhere today, just chilling. If I had a bike here I couldn't ride it anyway, it would have to be tough to cope with the access 'road' although it improves after half a mile. The Eroica passes at that point on a smoother white road.

    Afternoon peeps,

Busy-ish morning with more to follow, waiting for the Eurotrash brigade to naff off on holiday and maybe then things will calm down a bit.

Office trip to Central London tomorrow (combined with dentists appointment) so will drive in.

I had an old Boris bike - a Pashley for getting around Naam (Cheltenham). I looked very 50's throwback on my Black Pashley, chrome rims, chrome brake levers, matching black rear pannier rack, Trilby...
One has relinquished that contrived urban image for something a bit more down to earth: Hillbilly.

I could put the old Wilier back together. Humph. Bits should be here in time for the better weather at the end of the week.

Took mrs DHL to ikea but the car park queue was too long so wanted to go home. Mrs DHL insisted we proceed so parked at westquay (shopping centre in Southampton) and walked. Customer queue was about two hours by reckoning so I refused it and told mrs DHL we could go to john lewis. Got there and the place was being evacuated. Dodged two bullets in one day and came home with zero shopping. Outstanding.

Waste of a day but significantly better than it could have been DHL.

    Quite a result there DHL.
Apart from zero expenditure, you avoided Ikea, which even on the best day is like a living death.

Maybe that's why Mrs. DHL was so keen on going?

That's why my daughter wants to go. I think we are going back tomorrow evening, another aimless 70m round trip to hello and back to buy some random plastic plants.

70m just to go to IKEA? Cannot believe they get away with selling such tat.
We have one about 10 miles away but I refuse to go.
Besides, I would have to pass Decathlon to get there.
