Touring Forks
I am looking to do some touring with my Boardman 8.8 adv adventure bike. This will require adding carrying capacity to it, in addition to upgrading the wheels to more heavy duty ones.
I’m having a bit of trouble finding replacement forks that have the eyelets for racks/cages. Does anyone have a recommendations other than these surly forks?

Only requirements are disc brakes and cargo eyelets. Black or silver is preferred.

People aren't fitting panniers as much any more. Look at the bike packing bags that Alpkit etc are doing. Huge saddlebag mounted on an exoframe and a frame bag and bar bag and you're good to go.
More aero too. You might not need new forks.0 -
I know this is an old thread but I'm adding this for future reference. I'm getting my Genesis Croix de Fer (2015) resprayed and having taken the forks off I realised how heavy they are. I started looking expecting there to be plenty of options but am having the same issue as the OP. I've only discovered this as a decent weight saving, good value option so far although SJS have pointed out that the axle to crown is lower so it will drop the front end and is probably not a great option because of that.
EVO Carbon ISO Disc Audax Fork (sjscycles.co.uk)
Another option that is more expensive Fyxation Sparta All Road 700c Straight Carbon Fork (sjscycles.co.uk)
Anyone got any other options?

- Genesis Croix de Fer
- Dolan Tuono0 -
Or some options on spa cycles e.g. https://www.spacycles.co.uk/m21b0s29p4877/SPA-CYCLES-Carbon-Gravel-Fork
Not sure on the axle to crown lengths though vs your Genesis
Edit: Ignore me the Genesis is probably 1 1/8" both top and bottom isn't it

Have been looking for something similar for an old Ti tourer with a 1 1/8 headtube.
If anyone would care to be a test pilot for these.
They probably come out of the same factory as some OEM stuff, but, eBay....y'know.

Genesis do their own CGR1 fork. I fitted one on my 2017 CDF. Its 400g instead of 1300g and has a much nicer feel IMHO. Not cheap but is good. they also do both a QR and a 12mm thru version so you can keep your original wheels.

Thanks guys, forgot to update. I bought a Lynskey Endurance fork on eBay after reading somewhere that it was a good option I happened across one up for sale for £120. I hadn't wanted to shell out on a new Genesis fork as it cost almost as much as I bought the bike for originally. Hopefully the Lynskey is a good solution.
