I am planning, subject to entry availability, a 2021 or 22 ride. Not sure which one though. Anyone else interested or planning a trip? Gaioli or Haro in order of preference then UK for me. Sun, sun and more sun please.
Also, any tips or information gratefully received.

I'd go for Gaioli myself although I haven't done any of them so not speaking from experience of the ride, but I do have friends in the area so I'm somewhat biased.
I was looking at trying for 2021 having recently finished building up a suitable bike, then some tool knocked me off and I now have a bent bike and suspected broken wrist. Hopefully be able to get myself sorted for next year though.0 -
Hi veronese,
Sorry about your misfortune.
Looks like the 2020 entries will have first dibs for 2021. Plenty of time for both of us to build/rebuild our respective mounts.
Good luck with your wrist.

Thanks, just been for an MRI now to await results on what to do next. This is the current state of my ride, top and downtube bent. I hadn't got round to wrapping bar tape as I wanted to ride a bit before fixing the brake lever position.

Ouch. Stupid question, apart from the forks is the frame repairable? Not a Giro Hero!0

It's Gaiole btw. If you are talking about the town in the Chianti wine region?
I've some bad news for you guys. I rode the 2017 and 2018 and it rained partly for both.
They didn't seem to be that subscribed for 2019 - maybe we've reached peak Eroica now? I entered for 2019 but wasn't able to go in the end.BASI Nordic Ski Instructor

Yes, all repairable. Quoted £690 for new front triangle inluding braze ons, paint and checking the forks. They can replace parts of the forks if necessary which as the fork crowns have logos in them it might be the way to go. But by that point a whole frameset would be cheaper I suspect, it's more than I paid for the frame but it's hard to find one in a larger size, I wanted the Chesini as I was born in Verona. Remarkably the front wheel is still true.freddievonrost said:Ouch. Stupid question, apart from the forks is the frame repairable?
I should have known it's Gaiole having been there often enough, brain elsewhere.0 -
I feel your pain. I wrote off my first Condor with a Campagnolo Gran Sport group set. I know this will age me terribly but my claim to fame is the that the late Monty Young did all the measuring. Mavic wheels too.Not a Giro Hero!1
