Bike for wife, what's in stock?

Being a woman, she has to have it now!
Budget for a road bike is around a grand, if I can buy it with my CTW voucher that's better, so options from abroad or retailers that don't do CTW are less good.
Rim brakes preferred, unless one can have hydraulic discs, which is probably impossible in that price range
So far:
Ribble 872 tiagra: she likes it but not in stock, delivery times uncertain yet
RIbble 725 tiagra: as above
Cannondale CAAD Ultimo: the Holy Grail, impossible to find anywhere
Dolan Etape: available, but not to her taste (understandably)
Anything else?

I know it's probably a daft question but would she consider 2nd hand
Cannondale SuperSix Evo in the classifieds

Seems a bit pricey for a 2nd hand Tiagra setup. Of course it is a supersix, but my wife averages 14 mph, does she need a SUpersix?left the forum March 20230

if she's a 'small' size then a couple of good options in stock at Decathlon:

Also that limited edition carbon Boardman looks good for the money if there's any left.0 -
We went to Decathlon yesterday... we did have a look at those Van Rysen, they look a bit dire in the flesh. I'll have a look at the Boardmanleft the forum March 20230

You have a bike for a wife?
I'd be shopping around too if I were in your position.0 -
Liv Avail might be a good one? Woman specific - the frames are good, and the specs depend on how much your budget is. But if you have a good frame then you can upgrade the gears with time....0

As per above, yes, I don't think she likes the "aero" tubes... it's all about visual appearance, you see...N0bodyOfTheGoat said:Boardman SLR 8.9c Limited Edition for £1k?

She could one of those then get some cheap material in the Laura Ashley closing down sale and cover the tubes with it.ugo.santalucia said:

Have you checked out the Cube Axial women’s bikes? Looks like rim version is £1k
And hydro disc is £1200 if you want to stretch it a bit.0 -

it looks a bit like an 11 kg monster... she already has an 11 kg monster in the form of a Planet X Kaffenback built with flat bars and Shimano XT.
It's hardly a road bike...

Another from the classifieds if that would be acceptable. 10-speed Tiagra again but a wedge cheaper than the last one I posted. Might be worth a haggle.

Quite nice, might just be the ticket... thanks for spotting thisleft the forum March 20230

Building one up might be quicker at the moment. Some nice carbon wilier frames on Merlin that should build up with Tiagra / 105 for under £1k. English threaded bb so easy for installation and maintenance. They take c2w but unsure of t&c’s of buying a frame and components.1

In the end she found a Liv Langma, fully built with 105 at the local Giant Dealer... it's the 2020 model so she got a bit of discount. It still came a bit over budget, but she's happy with it and she likes it.
We tried Canyon and Ribble, but the delivery dates were unrealistic, into late October, or Novemberleft the forum March 20230 -
Oh alas. There was a Colnago in S on flea bay too for around a grand.
Surely she would have been bought by the 'the Colnago is the Rolls Royce of bicycles'.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0
