Praxis BB conversion for press fit
I will soon be in receipt of a new Wilier frame.
Unfortunately, it has a press fit BB. This is my first foray into press fit BB's but... I am going to fit a Praxis if possible given the (squeaky) greif BB30's seem to give people.
Frame specs is an 86.5 BB.
Which Praxis for Campag Ultra do I need?
I contacted Sigma Sports and they sent an email saying that my query would be answered between and 5 days! They stock Praxis.

I think, but this is just a think, that Praxis don't make one for that combination. I could be wrong though!0

I think mfin is correct, they don't do one for a 86.5 BB shell.

I was going to suggest one of the Hambini ones but when I googled it I ended down a rabbit hole concerning a spat between him and a woman from a cycling Weekly which would make a great thread in Cakestop. Anyway, he explains the issues with pressfit and offers what appears to be an excellent if pricy solution. If I had a recurring creak I'd probably stump up 200 quid if I knew it was going to cure it though.0

Yeah, there's something to be said about not actually disliking the person you are giving your money to.shortfall said:I was going to suggest one of the Hambini ones but when I googled it I ended down a rabbit hole concerning a spat between him and a woman from a cycling Weekly which would make a great thread in Cakestop. He's a character, that's for sure, and doesn't seem to like that road bikes aren't made to aerospace standards.
Have you looked at Hope? I just acquired a bike with a pressfit. Hope seem to do some conversion sleeves that thread into one another and clamp against the frame that way.0 -
I was going to suggest Token as the Token Ninja has a good reputation.
Unfortunately it's only for Shimano cranks, not Campag ones.
I'm saying this whilst touching a lot of pieces of wood but I've got two BB30 bikes and they've run well and silently.0 -
Just seen this, it's certainly not cheap but C-Bear do have a good reputation:

I'll keep that in mind in case these let me down:joe_totale-2 said:Just seen this, it's certainly not cheap but C-Bear do have a good reputation:

The 46 to 52nm tightening torque for the c'set and some Loctite should keep them in place.

I’ve got CBear BBs in both my Colnagos. Very good. No problems.

Yep the CBear is available from Sigma for £95

Not cheap but an investment in "peace of mind" maybe0 -
I have a Rotor BB fitted into a BB30 shell, to run 24mm Shimano cranks. Maybe they do something similar for BB86 and Campagnolo UT?Ben
