Hi guys,
I bought tcr advanced 1 disc 2021 and I still have an option to pay extra AUS2.1k to swap it with advanced pro 1 disc 2021. Please see links for both bikes below.

Alternatively I can keep the bike and spend extra 2.1k to buy new set of carbon wheels. I would buy deCadence wheels 49mm deep, 1450g heavy (as opposed to SLR 1 at 1580g. Please see the link below.

Which option would make a better bike overall? Which bike would be lighter?
Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
Thanks

For your extra $2.1k you get a full carbon fork, power meter as well as the wheel upgrade. The fork weight loss would compensate for the increase in wheel weight so weights would be similar. Plus if at any point down the line you did want to lose that 130g by changing wheels you could, much harder to swap out forks (and you won't - SLR1s are decent wheels with a modern aero shape & the weight is comparable to others with similar shapes).
Advanced Pro all the way for me...0 -
Fair points mate. However the fork on tcr a1 is full carbon as well.super_davo said:For your extra $2.1k you get a full carbon fork, power meter as well as the wheel upgrade. Checked the specs of 2021 when I edited the post. In previous years Advanced had alloy steerers and lower grade carbon. For 2021 Advanced use the same grade carbon and an all carbon but different fork (not Overdrive).
So difference has narrowed but I'd still go for the Pro.0
