Have you ever looked at Specialised S Wrap HD tape? It's expensive but it's really good, shop around though. It will last for ages and it's really comfy and it's grippy but not annoying. I've only used it in black and of course that just stays looking new too. Much better than Lizard Skins in my opinion.1

Supacaz tape is my default now, stunning quality, wide range of colour options.Felt F70 05 (Turbo)
Marin Palisades Trail 91 and 06
Scott CR1 SL 12
Cannondale Synapse Adventure 15 & 16 Di2
Scott Foil 181 -
Must say I like Lizard Skins the 2.5mm tape and use it on my road bikes. I wasn't actually that big a fan of Supercaz tape when I used it in the past.
Watching this thread with interest, always willing to try something else.

Specialized S-Wrap Roubaix for me. Very comfortable, grippy without feeling sticky, easy to apply nicely (satisfies my OCD) and lasts for ages.1

Thanks for your input..... ordered some Zipp Service Course CX tape will post update when on. Maybe the Lizard Skins V2 will be an improvement .0

Cinelli cork since the beginning of time. Comfortable and great value, plus when you do make that silly colour choice the price means you just replace it for black1

My current favourite is Fabric Knurl. Decent comfort, very grippy and easy to apply.
Currently £14 from Wiggle.0 -
Haven't been greatly impressed with Lizard Skins - lacking in stretch so doesn't wrap very easily. Started to wear through the top layer in places after a while. Also came up a bit short on my bars.
Intend to try some Tortec Super Comfort next time around.0 -
Update
Service course CX tape with me and fitted ...... impressed, Lizard Skins V2 also arrived and fitted .
I’ll post update after a few week of use.0 -

Back to black Cinelli old faithful in cork. Must add, with gel these days. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

I've found that Lizard skin tape wears very easily where cables sit under it at contact points i.e around the hoods. It's obviously going to be different for everyone in that respect though.
My current favourites are supacaz super sticky kush and prologo one touch. Both seem to be strong, stay tacky and are far more durable than the LS.0 -
I've just changed the original tape on my BMC and replaced it with Prologo one-touch which is excellent - tacky, comfortable and seems like really good quality, very impressed with it, especially how "grippy" it remains when wet. Also have Evans own FWE Vex Gel tape on another bike and that is also superb - feels like a quality product.Bianchi ImpulsoBMC Teammachine SLR02 01Trek Domane AL3“When I see an adult on a bicycle, I do not despair for the future of the human race. “ ~H.G. Supacaz is my choice
In a pinch I use the lifeline performance stuff from Wiggle. It's dirt cheap and super grippy0 -
I was a Lizard Skins die hard, but chawed to Prologo One Touch. Great with or without gloves.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0
