Hoodoo vs nucleus vs Bantu

Hi,

New to mountain biking and want to spend £500 ish on a Hardtail. I was after a calibre two cubed but I’ve had my order cancelled by Go Outdoors 4 times and with recent news doesn’t look like a two cubed is an option for a while.

I’d like to get the bike ASAP. So my question is, voodoo Bantu, voodoo hoodoo. Both available now or do I play the waiting game for a Vitus Nucleus 27 vr to come back in stock?

Or are there any other options?

Thanks in advance!

I can't comment on individual companies, but for most companies there is no more stock coming until the 2021 models hit the stores.

When do you think that is likely to be? Been in touch with Vitus and they reckon they’re dropping stock soon.

Also, if you had the choice, which would you go for? Two cubed, nucleus or one of the voodoo’s?

Or is there something else I should look at?

@BC90 Where do you ride & what type of riding will you be doing?

The Hoodoo is a more trail oriented bike, running a 67 degree head angle and a 1x10 set up, and its a kilo lighter than the Bantu (according to Halfords). But the Bantu is a bit cheaper and would fine for general riding - canal towpaths, coastal trails, blue mountain bike routes etc.

The Vitus Nucleus is very similar to the Hoodoo except it has 2x9 gearing rather than 1x10 on the Hoodoo.

For a bit more money the Voodoo Bizango 29er looks reasonable.

Also look at the Vitus Nucleus 29er for the same money as the 27.5.

Good luck finding stock, crazy times.

Thanks @danlightbulb, looking at chucking myself down some mountains. I quite short, 5’7 and read that 29ers a more suited to a taller rider?

Fair enough. I just looked at a Bantu review and it gets a good write up actually.

Halfords website indicates stock of that bike is arriving soon as well, so might be the only choice you can get quickly:
