To grease or not to grease

Mtb dropper post? Conflicting info out there, unless told different was going to lightly grease and wife off

    Use gripper paste. It will prevent the post seizing in the seat tube and also hold the post without you having to over tighten the clamp.

    Dropper posts have all sorts of very high tolerance bits and pieces inside and they don't like being squeezed tightly together. Using grip paste reduces the amount of force you need on the clamp and yet still secures the post.
    And of course use it on anything clamping onto carbon fibre components.
