Hi all. So I am putting a grx chainset on my genesis croix de fer. I tried to get my original tiagra mech to work but it couldn’t quite cope with the 2.5mm extra. So I am swapping To a grx front mech as well. Problem is it seems awfully close to the crank. Like about 1mm away when set up properly. So a few questions
1: I have had to use an Mpart braze on adapter (grx only came as braze on mount and my original was a clamp) do you think this would shift the mech to far out??
2: I have noticed that their is no spacer on my bottom bracket. This is how the bike came. So do you think the lack of a 2.5mm spacer is causing the chainset to be too far inboard and thus too close to the front mech?
Many thanks...

Isn't the spacer irrelevant here ? The mech would be in the same position anyway ?
You would think that the grx chainset would work well with its own front mech?0 -
