Saddle for heavy rider

Sore bum after about 15 miles and recommended saddles I am 16st 9Ib.

    Well Ian, as far as I’m aware there are no magic saddles plus they are a very personal choice, there isn’t a one suits all saddle. If your new to cycling it may take a while for your bum to acclimatise. Soreness can be caused by many things for example the wrong shorts or padding, friction, damp I could go on. Chamois cream can help. I don’t know your physical build but if you are overweight then losing the excess would be a great starting point. I was getting heavier and heavier year after year, I’ve now lost 4st and it’s done no end of good as far as time in the saddle is concerned

    i've been as heavy as 112kg in recent years (104kg now) quite heavily built tho through weight training and i've never had any issues with any of my seats i use 3 bikes every week

    It's not to do with your weight but to do with your sit bones.

    I used the same saddle from when I was 130kg and now 100kgs.
