Rear Hub - Loose Cup Repair?

Hello, could a kindly bike mechanic help me with some advice, please?
I'd like to save my 10 year old Trax TR-1 MTB from the scrap yard.
I've just fitted a new rear axle (basic cup and cone design with 9 loose bearings), but I noticed that on the drive side, the cup inside the hub is loose and rattles around. It causes about 5mm of side to side movement at the wheel rim. The bearings are adjusted perfectly, the movement is from the loose cup.
Is there any way to tighten or re-seat the cup the hub?
Thank you.
