Tyres safe to ride on?

Hi all, just wondered if the tyres in the photo are safe to ride on? Should I be worried about the cracks?

  • Bulging is really unsafe. Those if not bulging then they are technically safeish but more prone to blowout punctures as there little to stop something tearing the carcass.

  • Thanks for the info, I only asked as they're about a couple years old but didn't use them at all last year and the bikes been stored in the garage. Guess the rubber has degraded over time. I'll change them, better safe than sorry.

I've found tyres on a bike that is being used last longer than on a bike in storage. Counterinuative but perishing seems worse than wear.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Dodgy rubber has been well known to cause huge problems. In some cases it can be fatal, in other cases it can be the opposite.
