Gear trouble need help

Trying to align the gears on the lift shifter. The clicks seem to be out of line with the numbers if that makes any sense, can someone help?

Don’t want to confuse things but this might be helpful. When I twist into 1 there’s still room to twist below 1

Youtube is the place to look for advice as most people on here will be looking to replace them. TBH gripshifts are not very good and as such don't get fitted on new bikes very often. Trigger shifts are way better and if you look on youtube you will see loads of conversion video clips.
Too many bikes according to Mrs O.

Trigger shifters are better. Unattach the shift cable from the fixing bolt at the rear mech then make sure to shift grip is in last or highest gear, re fit cable and fine tune again.

Grip shifts can be a pain, make sure if your shifters are Sram, the rear mech is Sram. Sram and Shimano don’t mix and you can spend hours trying to fettle it to work (trust me I’ve been there). Near the gear shifter there should be a screw you can use to fine tune, make sure this is halfway out (this gives you some wiggle room either way) put shifter into highest twist eg gear 7 if it’s a 7 speed. Undo the cable at the rear mech, pull it tight as you can with your hands then tighten up bolt. Lots on YouTube on this as well.
