ZUUS WHEELSET

Pair of high end wheels with white spokes and deep rims. Bought for £1050. Have done 850 miles and am selling as good nick, true but would need to buy a new set of rims as they’re slight;y worn. 400 Ono.

This shows why rims need replacing.

So you’re selling spokes and a pair of hubs for 400 quid because the rims are f*cked, but they’re in ‘good nick’ yeah?

I had a Zuus wheelset. Not saying these are using the same components for a second, but they cost me in the region of £400 and the hubs were made of cheese. The nipples were also rubbish. The spokes were ok in that none of them snapped. Anyway, good luck with your sale there.

I must be lucky then! Had mine for a few years and they’re still going strong. Definitely about £399 though.

Of course, I’ve probably jinxed myself now.
  • I got a pair for training when they first appeared on the scene. Ordered 50mm but they delivered 60mm, but hey-ho. They're about 6 years old now, and yep, the rear hub has pretty much given-up (and the freewheel sounds like it's about to let go), but I've had good use out of them to be fair. Can't for the life of me get the hub ends off t try fettle them, so I guess they'll be going in the bin when they do eventually give up...

They're ripoff Zipps - and the two people I know who've had them rate them as extremely poor quality. One of them got less than 500 summer miles out of them before the rear hub disintegrated.

Cost them 400 quid brand new (though they both had to wait about three months for the slow boat from China...)

Did you honestly pay £1000 for these? Zuus had a permanent sale on so they'd say the rrp was a grand but they'd be around £500 99% of the time. With that in mind, you might struggle to get £400, unless the hubs are something very special and not just the the novatech/bitex zuus used normally.

Mmmmmmm. I had disc ones and got them for £350 with a silly discount offer..... they were OK once I replaced the front hub (seriously dodgy lacing), rear hub and spokes ..... whoopsy. Rims going strong though after two years with hope Hope hubs and Sapim rays.

If the rims need replacing, they're not even worth 20 quid... sorry to break the news

  • Still for sale. Final offer £200 - otherwise I’m giving them to a charity bike shop project...

I doubt a charity would want them.
