Trek domane AL 2 or Decathlon Triban RC500

Hi everyone,

Thanks to the Corona Lockdown I discovered that I really like road biking and I would like to buy a road bike for my start. I will mainly ride with it in my free time and sometimes comute with it. Therefore, I am looking for a road bike with a max. price of 650€ (575£).

I have so far found two interesting options: First the affordable Trek Domane AL 2 with Shimano Claris as groupset and rim brakes. For the same price, the Triban RC500 from Decathlon is also a good option (mechanical disc brakes and Shimano Sora als groupset). It is difficult to me to decide between the two and since I am a beginner of road cycling I cannot really picture the implications of choosing one or the other. I want to ask you, what will be your suggestion there?

Thanks

Sergio
