FSA GAMMA DRIVE

Hi,
Ive been given the task of servicing a friends bike. The bottom crank was loose and on removing the crank arm (FSA GAMMA DRIVE) I noticed the crank did not have a 'stop plate' like the Shimano ones I have seen in the past.
Is this correct or should there be a stop plate?
Cheers
