Late start for me, sort hounds out and then a gentle road bike ride.

Breakfast followed by petrol based garden jobs, then socially distancing champagne toast for VE Day with the neighbours before retiring to the home bar to catch Chris Moyles live DJ set at 19:00

Not sure we will be toasting VE days with our neighbours - one of them is German. Wonder if a runners up medal would cheer them up?

Not too much going on today beyond a household VE day celebration later on. May get round to doing some exercise later.

Early start into town for annual cardiology test. The doc is a smarmy condescending tw@, but allegedly a good specialist. Anyway, a pass issued for another 12 months.

Sore back limited rest of the day somewhat.

I missed out why it is that you are confined to home LDave. Health condition risk? Hopefully a new world is coming our way. Soon. Please.

Quick bike ride this morning. This afternoon has been mower and strimmer work to subdue the jungle which sprang up over last 2 weeks. Cold beers beckon...

Good point. Hopefully he's just busy getting through his wine stash.

    All fine my sun-loving chum.
Busy week at work, combined with being too lazy to log into the site (got logged out for some reason) meant I haven't posted.
Found time to ride short flat or rolling rides, and dragged myself up and down steepish ramps too (v68 gave me gyp on strava for missing one ramp). Went out for 60ish rolling km in sunny Surrey (decked out like a NF convention today presumably in honour of all that American money and Soviet blood). So been keeping fit.
Boeuf en daube eh? Down in provence they like to put orange rind in it.
I did those aged short ribs a week or so ago.

Took them off the bone in the piece, and grilled on the posh gas bbq to 55 degrees internal and rested. Bloody lovely. For a cut you normally braise for 5 to 6 hours it was a real eye opener.
Roasted the bones with aromatic veg and pressured cooked into stock, very happy with the result.
Some well thought of history books going cheap on Kindle store, so bought a couple.
Merry VE day tout le monde/jeder/tutti/everybody/все.

Spent the day trying to shift the splitting headache that hit me yesterday afternoon. Seems to be packing it's bags now.

The local NHS trust sent out an email a few hours ago telling us to down tools as they've sorted enough PPE that we'd been making which is good news.

Ran this morning. First time since lockdown, now my legs are aching. Didn't even manage the half marathon I intended (less than 9 miles)

Doorstep street party this evening. Lots of pizza and fizzy pop.

Well As much as I want to go out, and after 7 weeks I do, I don’t want to end up in hospital with the doctors looking at my medical records asking what I was doing out, when I was requested to stay in for 12 weeks
