Jersey

In need of a short sleeve jersey, something fitted to show my awesome abs... :D:D

This any good?

I was also looking at some Rapha like the training jersey which doesn't seem too horrendously priced

I know that a lot of people swear by DHB but the Rapha stuff is in a different league IMO.

La Passione stuff is also worth a look and pretty snug fitting if that's what you're after.

Dhb stuff is pretty good and possibly best value. Sizing seems to have changed in the last couple of years though, clothing is now smaller/ closer fit than the guide charts suggest.

Personally I love castelli jerseys. They are pricey but look great and so comfortable, although fit is very close.

The other favourite of mine is stolen goat. I have a few of their jerseys, seem to buy 1 or 2 a year, and bought this one just before the lockdown:

It's much closer fitting to their usual jerseys yet just as comfortable. Not sure how aero it is, but feels nice to wear.

I’d suggest they are ok for a 40in chest. Let me know if that’s the right size and I’ll pm you for an email address to send some photos.

    Cheers.
  • According to the Mistress of the Wardrobe 40" doesn't suit my highly toned torso. Sorry.

The Castelli Aero Race is great - really tight fitting (as in before you put it on it looks like it is made for a 5 year old)

I've got loads of jerseys, from all the premium brands. Best by far are the smaller, lesser known ones - Isadore and Isolés

I've got two dhb jerseys - one of then is decent, the other crap

    That's probably large in Castell!

I can only reasonably wear the aero race when I'm at about 68kg, and it's a large

I know... I've got a pair of Large bibtights by Castelli and they only just about fit... I often find my balls in places they haven't been in decades...

How's Rapha for sizing? I seem to fall in the gap between S and M according to their guide... possibly closer to an M in the waist and closer to an S in the chest

    Size guides usually pretty accurate.

FWIW I'm 38" chest, 32" waist, I get medium in everything apart from Pro Team Aero which I need a large.

Why not order both and send one back ? Their returns system is great. Or email them your measurements - they're usually pretty good at replying with helpful advice.

Rapha dispatch is quite slow at the moment.I ordered a couple of jerseys a couple of weeks ago,in stock, and they are coming tomorrow.I was kept up to date at all times but maybe something to be aware of if you are looking for it in a hurry.

Could do worse than checking these out on eBay.

Come from China but delivery is pretty quick and they fit well.

I think we've got enough from China lately... they won't get my business any time soon

Have you seen these Castelli deals? https://www.merlincycles.com/short-sleeved-cycling-jerseys-75341/?brand=castelli&sort=price-min&gender=male

I bought the red Bologna one recently, the medium was true to size guide.

  • I've got a couple of the Rapha Pro Training jerseys I picked up in the archive sale. Very nice jerseys tbh and as you say, not too extortionate.

I went for medium, which are super fitted/ tight on me which is what I want. I'm 183cm, 78-80 kg...

Careful with the Chinese stuff. I ordered one shown as coming from Walsall. nowhere near a fit so I wanted to send it back. Returns had to be to Wuhan - yes, that Wuhan. Cost to send it to China was astronomical, and no tracking was available.

Cynical me could just see Mr Virus creator denying ever receiving it and refusing a refund.

Won't be buying from China for a while....they have cost me enough already.

Dhb Merino jerseys are nice, and the short ones aren't as heavy as they sound. I've just got an ultra light in the post but haven't worn it yet. The regular short sleeve is good in the current weather.
