Hi,

I'm planning to replace my bike's bottom bracket from an Fsa bb92 (CFM92) to Shimano bb92 (XT MT800) without replacing the crankset and wanted to make sure if all will turn out right.

I did some research and the only thing that worries me is that the axle from the crankarm on the Fsa and Shimano don't look the same. There's an indentation in the middle of the Fsa axle whereas on the Shimano there's no indentation. Will this affect anything?

Did any of you try to fit an Fsa Comet Crankset to a Shimano bb92 ? If so, did you have any issues?

Thanks in advance!

Measure the diameter of the shaft at each end, where the bearings would fit. If they are both the same the Shimano BB will fit (24mm I believe).

I think the FSA crank has 24 at the spider end and 23 at the other, but it might be 25 and 24! (It's a while since I last did this).

Thanks a lot Steve_sordy. Found on the net that both sides are 24mm but I'll measure it just to be sure.
