Fitting new Shimano Hydraulic lever

Hi,
I need to fit a new Ultegra R8070 Hydraulic lever after my current one failed.
What is the best practice for this? So far i'm happy with the concept however what do I need to do in terms of disconnecting hydraulic lever and then reconnecting hose to new one?
Will loads of fluid come out when disconnected?
I have all the bleed kit ready as i assume this will need to be done once new lever is on there?
Any help would be great, thanks
