What Hub Do I Have ?

Would be grateful please for help identifying the type of freewheel that fits the hub on a 700 c Rigida rim (photos attached). Is it Shimano 8 speed? Length of splines is just under 40mm and the diameter is 35 mm. Could this also take a 9 speed cassette freewheel? I bought the wheels probably 12 years ago at a car boot and have forgotten what freewheel they take. Thank you

    8, 9 and 10 speed cassettes (and MTB 11 speed) are the same width, so if you had an 8 speed on there, a 9 speed will fit.

    Thank you. I've never had a freewheel on the hub - so I'm still hoping someone can identify whether it is Shimano 8 speed :|

    Yes, looks like a Shimano freehub and so it will take an 8 speed cassette
