Hello, i’ve had my mountain bike for a couple years but find I mostly use it on the road. I am not keen on a road bike but want to buy some slick tyres.
My current mountain bike tyres are 27.5x2.25, while the ETRTO is 19-584.
This is all a bit confusing as i am unsure what would fit my GT bike.
Is there any translation that would help me choose a the right size tyres for my bike?
Thank you!

ETRTO is a standardised measurement of the rim diameter (584mm), the 19mm refers to the rim width (internal).
Like many bike tyres the tyre size (27.5) refers to the diameter of the wheel with a nominal tyre, in your case that is 27" with a 2" tyre (so the rim itself is 27 - 2x2 = 23" - or, erm 584mm) , he 27.5 'name' is with a bit of a rounding up for marketing purposes. The 27.5 wheel size was developed from the road wheel size 650B and (width permitting) the tyres are interchangeable.
MTB width slicks in 27.5 are still scarce but this would be a decent option
