noise in the front wheel - spoke?
Hi
I have noticed a noise in the front wheel of the bike and after removing it, i can clearly hear that there is something wrong, but i cant find what is the problem. The noise i hear is like if there is something broken, but i cant see any clear broken spoke or similar.
I have uploaded a couple of videos showing the problem:
https://youtu.be/FYcNfXc6Wv0
https://youtu.be/Ym1LIRDIUAM
Could you help me to find what might be the problem please?
Thanks

It maybe that your spoke nipples are seated using washers. Sometimes these crack and the bits can rattle around in the rim. If a washer does crack and break, you will get a loss of tension in that spoke and eventually the rim will go out of true. I would suggest a quick test anyway - go round every spoke plucking each one like a guitar string and look for any that sound "dull" or flat. Good luck..Regards

I tried that and cant hear any noise.. apart from the annoying noise, would it cause any harm, or can i continue riding it as normal?0

javidr When you held the axle [second video at 10sec] the rattle stopped, did it not?0

No, i couldnt move it properly, i held the axle in a better position and later it sounds again. In fact, its what i wanted to show, that the noise was not coming from the axleCharlie_Croker said:javidr When you held the axle [second video at 10sec] the rattle stopped, did it not?

Is the noise coming from the axle or the rim? If the rim - there is something loose (could be almost anything) in the space between the spoke bed and the tyre / rimtape bed. You can get it out through the valve hole. If the axle, you're going to need to dismantle it to see what caused it and whether safe to continue riding it.Regards

Has a spoke nipple been dropped in the rim and forgotten about?0

either that or a loose spokekwozzymodo said:Has a spoke nipple been dropped in the rim and forgotten about?
hold the wheel with a group (two or four) of spokes tightly and shake
rotate the wheel slightly and repeat, until you've gone around the whole wheel
turn the wheel so the opposite side is facing you and repeat
found anything?
