For sale my beloved Specialized Allez Elite. Purchased in 2011, it was my first road bike and fared me well getting to grips with the Peak District climbs. Unfortunately it has seen little use over the last 4 years since I left the UK, instead being stored in my parents’ garage. Now I’m moving permanently abroad, it is time to free up some space. It rides superbly well and I actually prefer the fit of this Allez Elite to my Canyon Ultimate AL 9.0.
The only original components on this bike are the frameset, saddle, stem and handlebars – everything else has been upgraded with new components, either purchased online or from my local bike shop Dave Mellor Cycles. It weighs 8.5kg, which is great for an alloy frame. The bike originally came with a Tiagra groupset and Jalco wheelset, which I can include with the bike too if you want. I also have spare cassette and chains (partnered up) of varying ratios that I can include at no extra cost. I have left the tape that I used to protect the frame from mudguard/zip tie rub and Garmin speed/cadence mounts - I can remove these if you would like.
If you would like any more photos or details beyond the specification below, feel free to get in touch.
Full Specification:
Frame: Specialized Allez Elite, E5 aluminium, size small, 52cm BB-TT. Great condition, with typical scratches from use (see photos).
Forks: Specialized FACT carbon with Zertz inserts.
Wheelset: Fulcrum Racing 5.5. These came off a Cervelo R3 and are pretty much brand new (they've been on less than 5 rides).
Tyres: Continental Gatorskin 23mm, with plenty of miles left in them.
STI Shifters: Shimano 105 ST-5700, 10-speed. Working perfectly, but due to sitting around without much use, the levers have developed some corrosion (see photos). It does not affect performance and I have read that you can polish this out, which I will attempt to do when I get some metal polish.
Crankset: Shimano Ultegra FC-6750, compact (50-34T), 172.5mm crank arms. The usual scratches and rub from use (see photos).
Front derailleur: Shimano Ultegra FD-6700.
Rear derailleur: Shimano Ultegra RD-6700, short cage.
Cassette: Shimano 105 CS-5700, 11-28T. I also have many 7 spare cassette/chain partners of varying sizes, all with life left.
Brakes: Shimano Ultegra BR-6700, with Swissstop Kool Stop brake pads.
Bottom Bracket: Shimano Ultegra BB-6700. Running smooth with no creaks.
Stem: Specialized
Handlebars: Specialized, with brand new Cinelli bar tape and plugs.
Headset: Cane Creek
Pedals: Shimano PD-R540 SPD-SL
Seatpost: Cinelli
Saddle: Specialized. If it was black, I would keep it and put it on my Cnayon because it’s so damn comfy!
Price: £550
