What's happening to my year old tyres? Disintegrating

Have noticed a strange issue with my tyres. They are the stock ones on my year old Specialized Allez.

I have noticed bits of thread coming off them and there is a fuzzy line around the tyre appearing just above the wheel rim itself.

These tyres have had minimal use as the bike has been in the garage over winter. I have never seen anything like this before (see pictures).

I'm guessing it isn't safe to ride the bike with the tyres falling apart like this? Anyone think it worthwhile taking this up with the bike shop? I know tyres are a consumable, but this is on the sidewall and isn't anything to do with damage or brake pad interference. The same thing is happening on the front and the back tyre.

Whilst doing some other stuff on the bike I was seeing bits of thread constantly coming off the tyres. Weird.

Thanks all.

Happens to a lot of tyres, just cut them off with scissors, don't pull the threads.

    Ok. Thanks.

Thing is, there are loose bits appearing every time I ride the thing. I'm sure the tyres are disintegrating.

Quite common on certain tyres and I personally didn't bother worrying about it when I used gaterskins. What tyre pressure are running at, wondering if hour running to low a pressure causing movement between the and rim ??

    Thanks.

I'm running the top specified pressure. Just shy of 125 psi.

Use a lighter and singe the ends off. Seals them up and they come back less often.

    Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

Blows my theory then, might be worth lowering to 100 for comfort assuming there 25s

They are indeed 25s. I keep the pressure high as I'm not the lightest person in the world. I dont have any comfort issues with 120 psi either.

    Thanks.
