Break bleed isn’t working

Recently I had to replace my break cable as the original one wasn’t long enough. But now every time I bleed my break the lever will never firm up and it will always touch the handle bars. Every time I get it to firm up the fluid will start to leak out of the reservoir on the lever then it will go back to you touching the handle bar. Does anyone know what’s happening?

    Sounds like the master cylinder seal requires replacement.

    They are “brakes”. Not “breaks”. And as above, not sealed correctly, or the olive and barb are not seated correctly.
