Campagnolo Ultratorque chainring bolt advice

As far as I’m aware you can’t mix chainring brands e.g. a Campagnolo with a Stronglight or a TA. It’s got to be 2 x TA, Stronglight or Campagnolo.0

Thanks for your comment but my query is to do with whether or not I can use ordinary chainring bolts with my chainset so the I can fit non-Campag chainring like TA ones. The bolts that came with the chainset appear to screw in to the inner ring.
My own experience is that mixing chainrings is ok, I have a TA Outer working ok with a Campag inner on another bike.0 -
No you cant. Thhole in the spider is too small. Campag thought of that.www.thecycleclinic.co.uk0

Also you bought campag, why would you want to put a ring on that wont shift as well. Tried ta ringand they are o.k but shifting is shall we say agricultural.www.thecycleclinic.co.uk0

Campagnolo shifting is spot on, leave the original rings.Ben

Thanks for the feedback, so it looks like I will have to stick with Campag rings or change chainsets. Reason for wanting to change rings? They're worn, reason for looking at TA is they're significantly less expensive but still good quality and more widely available. I have a TA 11 speed outer on a non-compact UT chainset and it shifts perfectly well.

Don't be too hasty. I used this with zero issues. Different supplier so shop around to be sure.

I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -
I've used TA and Stronglight rings on a Campagnolo 5 bolt crank (110mm) with no issues.1

Thanks Joe2019 and pblakeny, found the Stronglight ones on Bike24 too before I checked back in on this thread, good to have positive feedback on them. It includes a note that you need the post 2011 Campag single sided torx bolts so that confirms that! Also, seems you can convert pre-2011 chainsets but not the other way around which is what I was thinking of doing (or thought was only option) at first. Anyhow, options available but chainset working ok with the original but part worn chainrings for now.0
