Help: £1000-ish for a commuter/general road bike

I'm looking to get a bike for commuting and general easy road riding. I want something with min 28mm tyres, ability to chuck a rack and pannier on, and cost around £1000 (not for bike to work, just a self-imposed limit to keep the wife happy).

So far, I've got my eye on:
- Cannondale Synapse Al Tiagra
- Scott Speedster 20 Disc
- Cube Nuroad Pro

Has anyone got experience of any of these bikes, or advice on alternatives? Any help or comments welcomed.
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

Have you got secure parking for the bike or it's not going to last long ?

The office has bike storage, I'm glad to say!
