Ideas for an oval rails adapter?

I'm planning to purchase a carbon saddle (with oval rails) for my Cabyon Grail CF 8.0 which only supports round rails.
As the clamps tighten the rails from the sides and not top/bottom, I would need to get a (dedicated) adapter.
I was wondering if it's possible to make some shims (maybe from some soda cans or similar) to be used as an adapter. I guess I could just buy the Canyon adapter but it would be more fun to make one. Do you guys have any recommendations for a long lasting one?

Shims won't work, you're thinking about this the wrong way round. Round rails are generally 7mm diameter. Oval rails are, depending on manufacturer, 7x9 or 7x10mm. You can't shim it because you need more space, not less. Depending on the design of the seatpost clamps, you could Dremel it, but if they have an adapter available, I'd go for that instead.
