Hi!
I've seen a few places with this older model going for £1800.
Is a two year old bike likely to need it's shock and fork servcing? Is the extra £700 worth it for the 2020 model?

A brand new bike that is two years old will not need its fork and shock servicing. But It will need some small amount of TLC. Wipe clean the stanchions and put a trail of wet lube around each stanchion close to the wiper seal. Then stand on the bike and bounce up and down to cycle the suspension through its travel. Wipe off the surplus lube. Set up the suspension and go ride.
Repeat the above after every wash and before every ride if it hasn't been washed. Some would say that this is not necessary and point to their motorbike and to the fact that they have never done this on their mtb either. All I will say is that I do this faithfully and have my suspension serviced by those that specialise in it every 12 months or 1200 miles, whichever comes last. I don't do any other service to the suspension at all. I have been riding mtb for 12 years and have had lots of different bikes and I have never had a problem with my suspension.0
