So it's time for a 16th year of PTP

(As far as I can tell the first year it was run was 2005, though before the forum merger so I can't figure out who the winner was).

No proposed changes to the schedule apart from the addition of the Olympic Games.

As ever, am happy to maintain the master spreadsheet, but would really appreciate all the help I can get to score PTP through the year. Please volunteer and let me know what you can or can't do, particularly the GTs. It's very simple and I'll can send you a googlesheet template closer to the day.

How to Play

Playing along with PTP is extremely simple - you don't have to sign up or join anything other than the Bikeradar forums. If you're already a member here, that means you're already eligible to play.

A few days before each of the chosen races, a PTP thread will be started in the Pro Race forum. That thread will contain a selection of useful links - start lists, race maps, past winners and so on. All you have to do is consider who you think is likely to win and post their name in that thread. It's that simple. If the race in question is a stage-race, you also get to predict the daily stage winners.

Post your pick in the relevant PTP thread before the cut off. If you change your mind then please post as a new post rather than editing your old post.

As you play, your scores will be added up and the overall season rankings will be updated in this thread.

We may also be running a PTP World Cup for the highest scores in 11 spring classics (marked by a * in the race list). Subject to demand.

3 | 8 | 6 | 4 |
4 | 7 | 5 | 3 |
5 | 6 | 4 | 2 |
6 | 5 | 3 | 1 |
7 | 4 | 2 | |
8 | 3 | 1 | |
9 | 2 | | |
10 | 1 | | |

Doping
Points are finalised once the race organisations publishes their results. No adjustments will be made if it later emerges that a rider has failed a drugs test or if a rider has wins retrospectively removed from his palmares.

Prediction Cut-off
Always the contentious one! The cut off is 12pm (noon) on the day of the race. This is strict so predictions at 12.01 won't be counted (exceptions made for split-stages, evening prologues etc). No GC selections will be accepted once a stage-race has begun.

Wondered when this would be up!

Happy to help out again, if you can tolerate the occasional very long waits for results. Spring classics season is looking busy though - 3 weddings and another 2 stags to go to.

I'll look at my calendar properly at work...

    Hi all.

Been trying to sort out my account to get into the new forum set-up for a while. Seems to be pretty much sorted though now.

I’m happy to do some scoring again. The only race I will struggle with for now is Amstel Gold as I’m planning on being on the Netherlands that week.

    Currently can't do:
    MSR
    Gent-Wevelgem
    Amstel
    LBL
    TDF first week

Mostly due to birthday, wedding and stag do attendance. Unless you don't mind the scoring being somewhat late.

Three wins and (at least) a podium in the last 9 seasons? He probably needs his own thread in The Clinic.

Thanks everyone who volunteered! I've put up a draft schedule in the original post for scoring. Let me know if any of those are problematic and I can move around.

Hi all. I've had more account problems in the lock-down. My own fault probably for avoiding the idea of pro-racing given everything we've been missing.

    I was down to do:

E3 and Tour de Yorkshire which have been cancelled for this year.

    Also down to do:

Ghent-Wevelgem - can still do the rearranged date
World Champs - I've got a rearranged holiday that weekend now but should still be able to manage

I'm happy to help pick some other races up if needed or swap out if we need to reorganise.
