So I finished buidling it and it is fine so far. But before you buy anything with Hongfu you have to know a few things:

-Their prices are cheap but it does not include +200$ shipping +200-300$ customs, so in the end this is just a tiny bit cheaper than a european shop
-Be prepare to send them about 50 e-mails to confirm what you want
    - It took them 6-7 months to send me the frames and wheels (not gonna complain too much it is mainly due to the pandemic
    - The quality check (what quality check)
    - they forgot to send me parts of the integrated headset (50 more emails for them to understand why they fu** up)
    -the garmin mount is trash
    - they drilled hole everywhere on my frame (maybe you can ask them not to do that :D )
    - The integrated headset a big risk if it does not suit you there is not much to adjust anything (i was lucky with that)
    - Frame is a bit on the noisy side
    - paint job scraps really easy

Apart from that I am pretty happy with it so far !!

And I forgot one thing that is pretty important the rear thru axle on my bike is pretty hard to fit due to cheap quality mountings

So, all in all, sounds like you got something a tiny bit cheaper than you'd get in a regular shop, waited six months for it, had a load of quality issues and they drilled a bunch of random holes in it... But overall you're 'pretty happy with it'?

In that case if you're interested, I've got a bag of magic beans for sale...

  • @remidq how did you find installing the internal cables? Is the bike frame stiff? Is the geometry aggressive? Is it a heavy bike? Thanks again.

    .

I knew what I was going for so I expected pretty much most of this (except the holes)

Riding the bike is unfortunatly not super stiff but it is still enjoyable!
The goemetry is I would say not medium aggressive but to be fair I like doing 1h rides so I cannot say what it would do to your neck in a long 4h ride.
For weight the frame is very light but as you see I used disc brakes and 58mm rims so I ended up probably around 7Kg
And for cable routing I dont know if you can see but there is only 1 cable to route throught the bike and that is the rear hydraulic brake. I rapped it up in foam and it was very easy to do thanks to my cheese frame :)

I clearly concentrated on the bad aspect, overall I would say this is an good frame.

That's the worst bar tape job I've ever seen... The rest looks decent, but you have to sort that out.

How an earth can you be happy with something you score 2/10 for quality??????

Definitely ditch the saggy bag. Looks nice though. How are you finding 1x ?

    Hmmn.

Sounds like a nightmare build, crap quality (you scored it 2/10), holes randomly drilled into it, big ports with ugly rubber bungs (I’ve cabled up several disc and di2 bikes and never had an issue without huge holes around the BB), appalling customer service (50 emails back and forward for each issue?) when you could have just bought an established brand and been riding it for months by now. Yet you think it is good?

And what does that after sale score mean?

Oh, and yes, that bar tape is appalling.

    Rather you than me.

The bar tape looks pretty reasonable to me (aside from the cack-handed finishing tape and non-equal amount of handlebar showing either side of the stem.) Could be easily rectified with minimal bar tape re-wrapping and a few neat wraps of some black electrical tape (and removing the white finishing tape, obviously.)

The bag is 100% needed, where do guys keep the tire levers, spares, hex wrench, pump?

The 1X is the best decision ever! At the time only SRAM was doing it and it is just silent and fast to shift with exellent range. I cannot count how many times I had issues with my front derailleur on my previous bike.

You can get more stylish saddle bags but who cares, bar tape easily rectified, can't see a problem with a hole covered by a plastic)rubber cover if it's a design feature.
