Stuck axle - DT Swiss R24 Wheel

I can't remove this axle at all. Apparently the method is to tap it out from the driveside but even with a lot of hammer action it is not budging. The axle spins independently of the inner race of the bearing. Any ideas?

It's a DT Swiss R24 Spline wheel and *I think* the hub is a DT Swiss 370.

  • There is a flared collar on the axle which sits against the inner side of the bearing, so you need to mallet it out... one way or the other it doesn't matter, depends which bearing you want to remove

Need to remove both bearings. The axle isn't sticking out much on the other side and I have tried that side too. I don't think it's moved a micrometre in all the attempts I've made :/
  • You need to believe in it... mallet harder

Have you tried WD40 down the side, or DIY WD40 with auto transmission gearbox oil and acetone (50/50)?
