Hi all, I have a bike with a 105 short cage mech, currently running 11-28; how large a rear cassette can it manage? Could it stretch to 11-30?
Thanks

In this video the SS mech works fine with an 11-32 cassette so your 11-30 should be OK. Might have to tweak the B-screw to get it really smooth.

I've run short cage shimano mechs with 11-32 _compact chainset. It works, chain will be slack in little ring with smallest couple of sprockets but not combinations you would be looking to use. This was on a small frame, length of chainstay and hanger will also have an effect but in principal it can work.

11/30 is fine, and 32 at a stretch. manipulation of the b screw is key. don't go big ring with the 30 or 32 under normal riding conditions.

Thanks all, 11-32 going onto the best bike (long cage), so the current 11-30 can migrate!
