Cadence sensor

I’ve bought and lost 2 Garmin cadence sensors over the last couple of years and I’m now wondering if any generic cadence sensor will pair up with my Garmin head unit.
TIA.

If it's an ant+ cadence sensor then yes, any will pair fine.

I think some Garmin head units will also work with BLE (bluetooth) sensors.
Asda of all places had some BLE speed/cadence sensors reduced to £10 a few months back.0 -
Wahoo speed and cadence sensors are BTE and ANT+ and work fine.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0

Reason I say ant+ is simply because the OP didn't state what model Garmin they have and the older ones are not BTE compatible.

It’s a 520.redvision said:Reason I say ant+ is simply because the OP didn't state what model Garmin they have and the older ones are not BTE compatible.

The Wahoo one worked fine with my 520.The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -
I would say get a dual BT/ANT+ sensor, that way it will pair up easily with your phone/pc in case you want to use it for indoor training, which TBH is they only time a cadence sensor is much use.0

Recycling the thread...
Are there any cadence sensors with a built in rechargeable battery?
Mine uses coin cell batteries which only last a couple of months before they need replacing.0 -
I'd check that yours is not being woken accidentally and draining the battery, or that the unit is not faulty, or that the batteries are of decent quality.thistle_(mbnw) said:Recycling the thread...

Mine last so long that I forget how long they last. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

It goes flat even if it's not on a bike. The batteries are half decent - not pound shop ones.pblakeney said:

It's not a well known make so it might have some "features".0 -
Well, you've eliminated most of the possibilities and highlighted the likely culprit. 😉 FWIW, I'm happy with my Wahoo RPM.The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
