Bar width difference

Hi, I currently use 42cm c-c handlebars and been offered good carbon ones at great price from a friend which are 44cm.c-c, is there much a difference in using these wider bars or am I unlikely to notice the difference in width?

    I guess everyone is different but I've always had 42cm bars, got a bike with 44cm & even after a number of months I just couldn't get used to them so changed to 42's.

    I'm not fussy about bike fit particularly either, I can get used to most things after a while but this just didn't work for me.

    The difference is 2cm. Of course you will notice it, but the real issue is whether you can live with it. That's something that you won't know until you try. Personally, if you're happy on 42s, then swapping to 44s just because they are carbon seems a bit daft.
