Hi l know your not supposed to wear anything apart from your padded tights/shorts, but I have too. When I do wear every day underwear these rub at the top of my legs and I end up sore, has anyone got any ideas how to eliminate this or any ideas of what to wear? I have just bought some chamois cream but not yet tried it. I would appreciate any help in this matter.

Why do you have to? Cycling shorts are designed to avoid you wearing underwear - it's another layer to chafe you.

This is why we don't wear underwear with shorts. I mean you could try vaselining everything but that's messy. Commando is best.

I've got some thin undershorts I wear if I'm doing a long run (reduces chafing from the mesh liner of the running shorts). They're like cycling shorts but no pad.

I've also seen "cycling underwear" advertised which I think is a similar thing. Never tried it though so don't know if it works.
