  • Shocks get tired over time and things need replacing.

Some more experienced folk will be on here to let you know if you can do it yourself or need to send them away.

Personally, I don't fiddle with them. I always use TFTuned.

When were your shocks last serviced?

After my attempts at servicing my reverb, think i'll leave the complex servicing to the experts :)

Ive had the bike 2 years and it hasnt been serviced, unsure what the previous owner did but suspect nothing either. Hoping now it hasnt damaged it.....

TFTuned service is £105, not sure if that includes return postage. Rebound Suspension who do my reverb via eBay have quoted £80 including return postage. Not sure if the services are comparable?

Now im thinking about having the rear done at the same time.....

I sent my forks and rear shock to TFT at the same time and had them back 5 days later. I really rate them. They send back all the old parts and you even get a service report. I was impressed. Levels of service were also excellent and I'm more than happy to pay for that. When you book in on-line they ask you your riding weight etc, what issues you have with the shock. I commented on some rebound issues so they rang me up and agreed to fit a lighter oil. Top notch.

In terms of sending stuff to them - I used Collect Plus. Put both items in a box and it was about £6 or £7 to send on a 2 day service.

You do pay TFT to send stuff back but I didn't have an issue with that (they did combine postage).

I doubt your forks are knackered. Mine were the same when they went to them.

I can't comment on any other provider but having worked in retail and mail order, I found TFT to be very slick and they really impressed me.

Sounds like the bushes are worn. If it's not too bad, they can just be tapped down a bit further into the lowers during the servicr and it will be nice and snug again.
If the bushed are worn out, they can be replaced but it's extra cost (often of them and I think it's fiddly).
Hopefully there's no wear or gouges on the coating of the stanchions?

I used J tech for servicing in the past as they are local, and had good service from them (haven't used them for a few years though now).
Not used TFTuned but always heard good things about them.

Thanks both for the detailed responses.
There are no marks on the stanchions.
Rebound Sus are off now till the new year, got one ride planned Sunday and then I'll dismantle.
One thing I need to check is to confirm they service upper and lower!
