A bit dead around here isn't it?

I don't get any pop up adds but I do miss the old format. I am a member of so many forums which still follow the old style that this does feel a bit odd.0

Same as above, used to pop on here when I stopped for a brew as there was always something to catch up on via one of the threads i'd posted on.
Now, the new format makes it impossible to see the threads I've posted in (egosearch) , rather than just those I created, the movement of the "bargains spotted thread" and the general downturn means I canne be bothered and am now frequenting the STW and cycling UK forums. Someone mentioned LFGSS, but i'm not that much of a sadist.
Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

the zwift forums have the sectins down the left of the screen and most recent posts (regardless of section) on the right - seems to work quite wellthistle_(mbnw) said:Might help if the forum "homepage" was the alldiscussions page not the most recent page so folks can go to the section they want more directly and it looks more like the old forum.
I have a couple of sections bookmarked so I can go straight there and it's like the old forum but white and with big text and some odd quirks.

Can you explain why page visits are a tiny fraction of overall visits?dodgy said:Here's fairly good evidence of the downturn, I posted this in another thread on here somewhere.

That Bl**dy video advert at the bottom right corner is doing my head in, its right where the scroll arrow is.term1te said:Only come here now when I'm really bored, and can face having to delete the awful pop-up adds every time I change page. My cursor immediately hovers over the bottom right of the page waiting to click the tiny cross. Not that I particularly liked the old format, just don't like this new one. But fora need money to run, and we don’t pay anything, the advertisers do, until no one is looking anymore
Its getting t the point that I wont both coming on here simply due to that annoying advert position....

Any one getting the "hanging" issues, when opening threads etc? Think I could cope with the new layout, but the lag between opening threads and posts is proving crippling for me...Titus Silk Road Ti rigid 29er - Scott Solace 10 disc - Kinesis Crosslight Pro6 disc - Scott CR1 SL - Pinnacle Arkose X 650b - Pinnacle Arkose singlespeed - Specialized Singlecross...& an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 string...0

I don't get anything down the side on my mobile, but with the small screen that wouldn't work. Everything's neatly divided into sections for me, like the old BR forum.chris_bass said:

Re the ego search, there is a clunky way around this - if you click on your user name at the top of the screen that leads you to your account details, there's a 'Posts' button, this takes you to all your posts but it doesn't tell you if anyone has subsequently posted.wolfsbane2k said:Same as above, used to pop on here when I stopped for a brew as there was always something to catch up on via one of the threads i'd posted on.

Yeah, there is no easy way to see replies to topics you have contributed to, so it is very frustrating to use.wolfsbane2k said:Same as above, used to pop on here when I stopped for a brew as there was always something to catch up on via one of the threads i'd posted on.

I think the update probably just highlighted the decline that was already happening.
For a long long time this forum has been kept afloat by a number of hardcore regulars (often bickering between themselves!) the update made a few of them visit less of give up completely so this cut a lot of their posts and so a lot of the replies to their posts which further drives down the amount others are visiting.
It is a bit sad i suppose but i guess it is likely the beginning of the endwww.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -

For me it's the layout - just show the sub sections I'll see the active posts in those sections if I choose to click on them. Seems such a simple fix. Just make it more like it was - it was fine - if more ads are needed to drive a profit then more ads are needed - though on my ipad on this forum there is acres of white space that could have ads in.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0

Ill agree, layout the old one was a bit dated but it was simple to work with. If they used something like Xenforo as a layout, great its similar to what we had, just an updated version.DeVlaeminck said:For me it's the layout - just show the sub sections I'll see the active posts in those sections if I choose to click on them. It feels overly long scrolling to get to anything, the acres of white are horrible to run through, they could easily add a radio button to expand a sub group to show the recent documents, it would speed things up hugely. also the older alternating colour on the forum made it easier on the eyes.0
